Sources: Cuomo examines securities data 8 banks gave to rating firms

New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is looking into whether eight banks gave credit rating agencies misleading information about mortgage-securities deals, sources said. Investigators want to find out whether some agencies were duped by deceptive information into giving the securities higher ratings, the sources said.
