Teachers use social media to foster student participation

More teachers are using social media to enhance classroom lessons, including a high-school English teacher in Iowa whose students use a Twitter-like program called Today's Meet to provide feedback that she can view on a running feed. Teachers also are using Twitter and Google Moderator, which allows students to submit questions and vote on which they would like answered. Supporters say such technology encourages student participation, while others worry it will be a distraction.
