Economic recovery isn't all good news for Obama

President Barack Obama might find that the U.S. economic recovery will hinder rather than help his ability to push through his second-term agenda, experts say. The strengthening economy reduces the political cost of the GOP's intransigence in fiscal issues, explains Jared Bernstein, a senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. "As long as things are kind of slogging along and the deficit’s coming down, I suspect there won’t be much motivation to even stop doing things that are creating headwinds," he says.
