Get out of your employees' way, expert says

The worst thing an owner-adviser can do for his or her staff is micromanage them, writes Angie Herbers, a consultant for independent financial planning firms. "It's a surefire way to minimize all that leverage that employees were hired to provide in the first place," Herbers writes. People are less motivated and innovative if you constantly tell them how to do their jobs, she writes.
