Letter: Collaboration time for teachers should increase

Teachers across the country are seeking more time to work with other educators, writes Kent Williamson, director of the National Center for Literacy Education and executive director of the National Council of Teachers of English. In this letter to the editor of Education Week, Williamson cites NCLE's recent report on the results a nationwide survey showing teachers' strong desire for co-planning with other teachers, which, he writes, builds trust among educators, leads to more effective teaching, improvements in job satisfaction and school achievement.
