Military construction budget escapes sequester cuts

Sequestration will not prompt budget cuts in military construction programs in 2013, according to an analysis by the Office of Management and Budget. On the other hand, maintaining existing buildings for the Department of Defense will feel the squeeze of sequestration. "In fiscal 2013, we're deferring all but the most critical repairs," said John Conger, DOD's acting deputy undersecretary for installations and environment.
