Samsung touts 5G breakthrough in the lab

Samsung Electronics said it has successfully tested 1 gigabit-per-second download speeds for wireless networks and set a goal of bringing the so-called 5G data service to consumers by 2020. Samsung said it can deliver data via higher-frequency bands than are now in use -- a breakthrough that it termed "mmWave Mobile Technology" in which the consumer electronics company downloaded a full-length movie in one second in the lab.
