SBA proposals could help small companies get credit

The Small Business Administration has received positive feedback for proposed rules designed to ease small companies' access to credit. The SBA has proposed ending the "personal resource" test that is used when distributing 7(a) or 504 loans and eliminating a rule that prohibits small companies from listing expenses they accrued more than nine months prior to seeking a 504 loan. The SBA is reviewing comments on the proposals as it decides how to move forward.
