Sprint wins proxy adviser Egan-Jones' nod for Clearwire bid

Sprint Nextel's bid for Clearwire took a step forward on Monday when proxy advisory firm Egan-Jones Ratings recommended that shareholders approve the offer at a scheduled May 21 vote. The company cited its review of "publicly available information on strategic, corporate governance and financial aspects of the proposed transaction" in backing Sprint's $2.97-per-share offer.
