Strongest solar flare of 2013 emitted by sun this week

Two solar flares have erupted from the sun in less than 24 hours. The first occurred Sunday night, followed by a second on Monday that was the largest recorded this year. The flare caused a high-frequency radio blackout but did not interfere with satellites or threaten the International Space Station.
