Tech groups want fewer strings attached to worker visas

Tech groups representing Facebook, Google and Microsoft, among others, have sent a letter to Senate Judiciary committee members warning that proposed changes to the H-1B and L-1 visa programs could have "unintended consequences." The letter argues that hiring skilled foreign workers could be stifled by making companies adhere to government hiring standards, and that strict rules about displacing American workers impede "strategic business decisions."
