For social TV to truly establish its connection with audiences, social platforms must find a way to resonate with viewers of TV series in the same way as live events, Chris Copeland writes. Also, the millions of comments generated during live events need to be filtered to become more easily consumable, and the proliferation of second-screen platforms needs to shake out. "[S]ocial TV is going to explode. Whether that happens in 2013 or beyond is difficult to forecast," Copeland writes.
