Study: 401(k) participants with advisors get higher returns

Participants in 401(k) retirement savings plans who pay for financial advice generate an average of 3.32 percentage points more in returns than do-it-yourself participants, according to a study by Financial Engines. "If your employer makes professional investment help available to you, you should use it," says Wei-Yin Hu, co-author of the study.
