World's widest cable-stayed bridge nets honor

Boston's Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge, the world's widest cable-stayed bridge, won the American Society of Civil Engineers' Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award. Figg Engineering built the $100 million structure, which carries 10 lanes of traffic across the Charles River and is the first such bridge in North America that is asymmetrical.
