Babson, Deutsche moves indicate resurrection of CDOs

Babson Capital Management acquired a $680 million collateralised debt obligation from Hartford Financial Services Group this month. In April, Blackstone Group sold three CDOs for a total of $1.3 billion, and Deutsche Asset Management replaced Brevan Howard Asset management on a CDO. The developments signal a revival in the market for CDOs. "We absolutely believe the market will come back," said Matthew Natcharian of Babson. "We're actively looking for opportunities."
