Magnesium protects against gallstones, study finds

A study involving more than 42,000 men over 16 years shows magnesium can reduce the risk of gallstones, with those getting the most magnesium from foods lowering their risk by 30%. Other ways to protect against gallstones include drinking two to four cups of regular coffee daily, getting enough vitamin C, and eating more vegetable protein and healthy oils, such as olive and safflower.
