Silverstein sticks to asking price despite vacancies

No leases have been signed for the top 10 floors of a 52-story office building New York developer Larry A. Silverstein completed in Manhattan in 2006. Silverstein has baffled real estate professionals by refusing to budge on his asking rent of $75 to $85 per square foot at the new 7 World Trade Center. "There's no shortage of people who are always trying to tell you what you should do when it's not their money that's at stake, and not their property," he said.
