Asian markets fall as road to recovery seems to lengthen

Asian shares dropped Thursday after retail sales in the U.S. fell unexpectedly in April, indicating the economic recovery might take longer than expected. The MSCI index of Asia-Pacific stocks excluding Japan declined more than 3%, Japan's Nikkei 225 lost 2.6% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 3.2%.
