Is Element key card power device too radical?

Readers are asked to chime in on an experimental new energy-saving policy to be tested at a Starwood Element Hotel in Lexington, Mass., in which a key card inserted in a device will power up the room's electricity. The card would be pulled out upon leaving, turning the electricity off. When asked whether the policy might be too radical a departure for some travelers, a Starwood executive said, "That's why we'll test it."
