Marriott shoots for LEED certification on dozens of hotels

Marriott says it expects that more than 30 of its hotels under development, along with its global headquarters, will achieve LEED certification for their eco-friendly features. The company is seeking LEED-Existing Building status for its global headquarters in Bethesda, Md., and hotels due to open this year with LEED certification include the Fairfield Inn & Suites Baltimore Downtown/Inner Harbor, the Ritz-Carlton Highlands Lake Tahoe in Truckee, Calif., and the Residence Inn Arlington Courthouse in Virginia.
