Salazar cites barriers to U.S. oil shale

Speaking at a meeting of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for 21st Century Energy, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said the country's oil-shale reserves are at least a decade away from commercial viability. Salazar said technological limitations are holding back development of the deposits, which could supply up to 800 billion barrels of oil.
