Teacher: Some students excel in hands-on lessons

An Arizona science teacher uses hands-on projects and group work to engage and excite students; she says some learn better through those methods than through reading from a textbook. "All of my classes are as hands-on as possible," said Donna Baker. "There are so many different learning styles. The kids who do really well with worksheets and textbooks and things like that don't get to shine. This gives them the opportunity to shine."
