Texas gardeners create Japanese garden on shady lot

Jeff and Donna Mason faced the challenges of gardening in the shade at their Texas home. The 1940s home was also built on a steep hill with a sunken storm-water stream traveling across the lot. The Masons built terraced beds and a footbridge and created a Japanese garden in their backyard that takes advantage of the shade.
