12 nuclear facilities are planned for India by 2012

The Nuclear Power Corp. of India, or NPCIL, plans to build 12 nuclear facilities with a capacity of 1,000 to 10,000 megawatts by 2012, according to S.K. Jain, the group's chairman and managing director. Six units would be installed in partnership with U.S. companies, and the other six units would use indigenous technology, Jain said.
