Adult acne requires grown-up treatment

Adult acne differs from teenage acne and may not respond to the same therapies, such as topical benzoyl peroxide or retinols, dermatologists say. Light therapy may be effective and may also reduce the appearance of scars, says dermatologic surgeon Justin Vujevich. Phototherapy is a good fit with inflammatory acne and in cases with active comedones, Vujevich says.
