Certification helps dispatchers handle missing-child calls

Fort Wayne, Ind., 9-1-1 operators are being trained and certified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to improve their response to calls about missing, exploited, injured or runaway children. The program gives dispatchers new information and practices for handling these calls, including flip cards for different scenarios that show what information will be most helpful to police officers.
