Dinneen: RFS made farm spending cuts possible in Senate farm bill

The increased demand for ethanol under the Renewable Fuel Standard is making possible the reduction in farm program costs in the Senate farm bill proposal, said Bob Dinneen, president and CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association. "It used to be that the price of corn was far less than the cost of production and it was government farm programs that would make up the difference," Dinneen said.
