Feds plan to alter criteria for compliance with IDEA

The U.S. Department of Education plans to change how it monitors special education and early intervention programs covered by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act by focusing more on student outcomes and less on procedural compliance, reporter Christina Samuels writes in this blog post. For instance, the government will track whether students with disabilities graduate from high school and how well they transition to life after high school.
