Geneticists find that Minoan people originated in Europe

According to a study by a team of geneticists from the U.S., ancient Minoans on the Greek island of Crete probably came from Europe, not Egypt, as previously believed. A study of bone and tooth samples revealed mitochondrial DNA markers common to Neolithic Europeans. Egyptian artifacts found in Minoan ruins probably came from cultural exchanges across the Mediterranean Sea.
