How IKEA cut costs and carbon footprint with EPA partnership

IKEA joined the Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay Transport Partnership in 2004 and has since used the voluntary program's tools to boost efficiency while cutting its carbon footprint. Since signing on, IKEA has found ways to pack more into trucks to cut down on the number of trips, and the retailer now requires that its products are shipped in newer, more fuel-efficient trucks.
