Koraleski: Rail industry should capitalize on improving economy

Railroad executives must stay alert to take advantage of opportunities in an improving economy, said Union Pacific President and CEO Jack Koraleski during the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association's 100th annual event. "The economy is headed in a nice, slow-growth direction," said Koraleski. "Do not hunker down. You need to be bold, looking for every opportunity." ASLRRA President Richard Timmons agrees, saying that the industry is "in an era of transformation."
