Lifeway may reopen shuttered Golden Guernsey plant after winning bid

Lifeway Foods has won a federal court auction of Wisconsin-based Golden Guernsey Dairy with a $7.4 million bid. The dairy processing plant closed after filing for bankruptcy in January. Bankruptcy trustee Charles Stanziale Jr. said Lifeway, a former customer of Golden Guernsey, will explore reopening the plant. "We just did not want to sell it to people that were going to break it off and offer the iron for auction," Stanziale said.
