Maine House panel advances proposal to ban ethanol fuel

Two proposals on the sale of ethanol fuel in Maine have moved to the state Senate and could see action in the next few weeks. LD 105, a bill that would allow sales of E5, advanced even after a 9-4 "ought not pass" recommendation in the House. LD 115, a bill that would ban sales of corn-based ethanol fuel if two other New England states do the same, has been tabled in the Senate.
