Snacks that combine chocolate with nutritious ingredients such as nuts and raisins give consumers a winning combination of convenience, health and satiety, said Melissa Abbott, senior director of culinary insights at the Hartman Group. "Something we hear from consumers from all across the country is, 'If I’m going to eat something that has sugar in it, I really want to make sure it has a high-quality fat or some protein to keep me from crashing,’" she said.
