Parental addiction may double children's depression risk later in life

Children raised by parents who were addicted to drugs or alcohol had a more than twofold increased risk of developing depression in adulthood than peers born to parents without a history of addiction, Canadian researchers found. The study appears in the journal Psychiatry Research.
