Retiring S.D. professor is a "powerful evangelist for all things concrete"

Marion Hansen, a retiring professor of civil and environmental engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, dedicated his life to improving concrete and creating new uses for it, writes Jennifer Naylor Gesick. Among his projects are concrete canoes, concrete planes and self-healing concrete. The professor will create an endowment from his accrued sick leave upon retirement so that his department can continue his research.
