What retailers need to succeed in the Middle East

UK retailers and other foreign merchants are drawn to Dubai and other parts of the Middle East, but to succeed there they need to understand the different cultures, customs and demographics, retail marketing and strategy professor Nitin Sanghavi said. "Some have really been very successful because they have been pragmatic at keeping their eyes and ears on the ground. They talk to customers continuously and get the feedback on what is working," he said.
