Tight glucose control may boost survival after heart attack

Intensive insulin treatment fared better than standard care in boosting survival in type 2 diabetes patients following a heart attack, a study in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology indicated. However, researchers said findings of the study, which was begun in 1990, may not be as significant if replicated today due to advances in caring for patients with diabetes and heart problems.
