Alzheimer's research surges as boomers age

With the baby boom generation heading toward old age, a flood of research is under way to find the causes and possibly the cure for Alzheimer's disease. Amid failures and setbacks there are positive signs, and at least two big drug firms are focused on a protein that many scientists believe is a key factor in the disease.
