Conn. court must decide if unions equal to marriage

Connecticut's high court heard arguments Monday in a landmark case to determine if civil unions for same-sex couples are equal to marriage. The state told the court the issue should be decided by lawmakers, while Bennett Klein, the lead attorney for the eight couples challenging the unions law, described marriage as "something that goes to the heart of equal protection."
