FTC offers behavioral ad guidance

The Federal Trade Commission's Richard Quaresima, speaking at an industry event, reiterated the commission's view that consumers should be notified before the collection and use of data that are personally identifying or that are tied to a specific computer. "I think you can view this as an extremely strong nudge," Quaresima said. "Otherwise, there could be a lot more draconian measures imposed."
