Students learn hands-on environmental lessons in gardens

Students in Broward County, Fla., may soon be learning environmental lessons in their own school gardens, paid for through grants that teachers received from the nonprofit organization Florida Agriculture in the Classroom. "It's a great hands-on learning experience, and teachers these days are looking for those types of interactive lessons because they've found that the kids learn faster and better," said Lisa Gaskalla, executive director of Florida Agriculture in the Classroom.
