California's first stem cell research institute launches at UC Irvine

Scientists and state officials on Friday formally launched the Sue and Bill Gross Hall: A California Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. The state's first stem cell research facility accommodates more than 60 scientists who will work to harness the capability of stem cells in treating various diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, and spinal cord injuries.
