N.Y. to link state tests to teachers' evaluations

New York state education officials are expected to enact a new teacher evaluation system today that could partially base evaluations on students' state test scores. State tests would account for either 20% or 40%, depending on the district. Officials expect the new system to be in place for some teachers next school year and to include all teachers the following year.
