Questionnaires help measure clients' taste for risk

Financial planners should have a systematic method for measuring their clients' risk tolerance, writes Ash Bhatnagar. He suggests some resources for developing a client questionnaire, including products from FinaMetrica, Morningstar and Envestnet, and says the results should be updated annually and summarized in the firm's policy statement.
