3 firms' offices are searched in EU price-fixing probe

Some European offices of oil giants BP and Royal Dutch Shell and industry service provider Platts were searched by the EU's antitrust authorities as part of an investigation into potential price fixing of oil and biofuel products. The focus of the probe is whether the three firms may have "colluded in reporting distorted prices" in a bid "to manipulate the published prices of a number of oil and biofuel products."
