CFTC is poised to vote on swaps rules

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is set to vote today on a series of rules governing the swaps market, including a request-for-quote requirement. The CFTC initially proposed requiring buyers of credit-default, interest-rate and commodity swaps to request a minimum of five quotes, but the agency is expected to approve a minimum of three quotes, with a yearlong phase-in period of two quotes.
