Deere sees fiscal second-quarter earnings grow nearly 3%

Deere's fiscal second-quarter earnings reached $1.08 billion, up 2.7% from $1.06 billion in the same period last year. The company trimmed its sales-growth forecast for the full fiscal year, from 6% to 5%, citing weather conditions. "Cool, wet weather in North America has delayed crop planting, slowed construction activity and hurt sales of turf-care equipment," said Deere CEO Samuel Allen.
