DRAM prices rose in Q1, a rare feat, research firm reports

The contract price for DDR3 4-gigabyte modules increased by 36.2% in the first quarter, and global DRAM revenue in Q1 was on a par with the fourth quarter, DRAMeXchange reported. Five of the top seven DRAM suppliers posted quarter-to-quarter revenue gains in the quarter, with only Samsung Electronics and Elpida Memory having less revenue than they did in Q4, according to the market research firm.
