Helicopter base at Ga. airport to improve medical care

The Valdosta Airport in Georgia is now home to a medical helicopter base. Brian Vickers, a flight nurse and paramedic, said the helicopter allows patients to arrive more quickly at the hospital. "[B]eing able to pick up here locally and deliver locally that potentially could be 15 or 20 minutes instead of an hour, hour and a half, previously," Vickers said.
